Serve on a Care Community
A Care Community is a team of 6-8 committed volunteers who come alongside foster and adoptive families, providing practical, emotional and spiritual support. This support helps families to foster longer and stronger.

Make Connections with Local Children and Families in Crisis
CarePortal is a platform that brings the tangible, real-time needs of hurting children and families in your community to your attention. Department of Child Services caseworkers uncover critical needs. CarePortal makes local churches and individuals aware, giving them an opportunity to respond. Together, we can change the lives of vulnerable children throughout Indiana.

Start a Family Advocacy Ministry (FAM) at Your Church
Hands of Hope equips churches to care for kids in foster care and vulnerable children. Either join what your church is already doing or invite your church to come learn from other ministries across the U.S. on ways to create or expand a Family Advocacy Ministry.

Hope Gifts
Is your business, church, or organization looking for a way to give back? Your group can bless foster children this Christmas through our Hope Gifts drive! Contact us at info@handsofhopein.org to learn more.

Bridge Bags
Provide a "Bridge Bag" to a child entering the foster care system. When a child is removed from their home they are given trash bags for their personal items, we can help change this for some of our children in Indiana. Each "Bridge Bag" will include:
  • Drawstring Bag
  • Toiletries: deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, shower gel, shampoo

Supplies for Kids in Foster Care
Supplies are needed to distribute to kids in foster care and to equip DCS offices to create a friendly environment when children first enter care. If you would like to contribute please purchase something from the Amazon wish list. It will get sent directly to our Foster Care Director who will ensure it gets distributed to benefit children in foster care.

Journey Bags of Hancock County
Journey Bags provide clothing and toiletries to foster children entering care and vulnerable children in need. There are opportunities to donation lightly used clothing at various donation box locations in the area.

Care for Children Awaiting Foster Placement
Many times when a child is removed from their home they must wait in the DCS office or a residential facility while the child welfare staff works to find a foster home. Isaiah 117 House provides physical and emotional support in a safe and loving home for children awaiting foster care placement.

Send a Child to Springhill Camps
Give a child in foster care the incredible opportunity of a week at SpringHill overnight camp in Southern Indiana! They’ll make friends while having a blast integrating faith and fun with activities like ziplining and water slides that inspire them to be courageous and feel loved. Bonus – foster parents get a week of respite! Just $40 a month sponsors a child to attend SpringHill – but any monthly will help a child in foster child attend camp at no cost. Please check the box to make recurring and select you want the fund to go towards “SpringHill camp.”

Guardian Ad Litem/CASA
Become a Guardian Ad Litem
Guardian Ad Litems (GAL) or Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Volunteers play a critical role in protecting and helping children. GAL/CASA volunteers advocate for the best interest of abused or neglected children in courtrooms or communities. The time commitment varies depending on the case.
