The Crisis

As of 2017 Indiana’s rate of children in foster care was over twice the national average. Roughly half of foster parents quit after the first year or first placement. There is less than a 3% chance for children who have aged out of foster care to earn a college degree at any point in their life.

Vulnerable children in Indiana need love and support.

The Solution

Everyone can do something. Your business or organization is invited to join Hands of Hope in making a difference so that there is
Foster homes for every child
Adoptive families for every waiting child
Help for every biological family
Wraparound support for foster families

Below are some ways your business and/or organization can participate in bringing love and support to the children in Indiana. Please contact us if you have further questions.
CarePortal County Sponsorship
Your business or organization has the unique opportunity to deeply impact the lives of vulnerable children and families in crisis within your community through a nationally recognized technology platform called CarePortal. CarePortal is an online platform that brings the needs of at-risk children and families in your community to your attention.

Caseworkers uncover the needs, with a focus in Indiana on preventing entry into foster care and keeping children with their birth families or relatives. CarePortal makes local churches aware, giving them a real-time opportunity to respond. Businesses or organizations help provide needed financial resources to make this happen.

Your organization can help make this possible for families in our state.
Supplies for Kids in Foster Care
Supplies are needed to distribute to kids in foster care and to equip DCS offices to create a friendly environment when children first enter care. If you would like to contribute please purchase something from the Amazon wish list. It will get sent directly to our Foster Care Director who will ensure it gets distributed to benefit children in foster care.

Supply Drive
There are some items such as diapers and wipes that Department of Child Services offices and foster families can always use. Your business or organization could do a supply drive to collect items to be distributed to the areas of need. Exact items will depend on current need and location.
