Exploring Foster Care

Providing Resources to Help You

Whether you have yet to start, are in process, or have completed your process to become a Foster Parent, Hands of Hope is here to help provide assistance. Below are resources for those exploring becoming foster parents.

Getting Started

It can be hard to know where to begin with foster care. What is involved? Is it better to go through Department of Child Services (DCS) or a Licensed Child Placement Agency (LCPA)? We’re here to help as you get started.

Adoption and Foster Care Information Meeting

Our Adoption and Foster Care Information Meetings are held virtually the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7pm (with the exception of May and December). Hands of Hope is not an agency so we are able to provide unbiased support and resources. These are a great first step in gathering information on domestic adoption, international adoption, foster care, and the Indiana Adoption Program.

Foster Care Events

Hands of Hope periodically notifies families of fun and inspiring events for children in foster care in Indiana, including things like Colts or Pacer games, summer camp, and plays. If you are a foster parent and would like to be made aware, we would love for you to click the button below to sign up!

Foster Parent Resources

There are many community resources available to you. These include clothing, college, fun activities, and more. Browse for resources that would best serve you and the children in your care.

Every Child Symposium

This is a one-day conference designed to inspire the faith community in Indiana to answer God’s call to care for vulnerable children. It is a day full of inspiration, equipping, and practical ideas so that EVERYONE can do SOMETHING to make a difference in the lives of children in need in our communities.
