When God’s People Come Together, Faith in Deeds Children’s Home Partner

Hands of Hope Blog

There’s nothing more powerful than a group of believers who is committed to combine unwavering faith with passionate action. James, the brother of Jesus, knew the result would be world-changing when he wrote in James 2:14, “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?”

It is this exact conviction that lies at the heart of Faith in Deeds children’s home in Andhra Predesh, India. Faith in Deeds provides a safe and nurturing environment for children to grow while learning about the ways of Jesus. Simply put: these children get to see the faithful deeds of adults who care for them, experiencing the love of Christ on a daily basis.

For the past 10 years, the children’s home has been operating out of a rented apartment building in a populated city. With approximately 50 children in their care, Faith in Deeds along with Hands of Hope had been praying for more space. And God provided. After the purchase of five acres of property in 2014 and a fundraising project in the fall of 2018, construction began on a brand new building in March 2019.

This permanent location will include dorms, prayer rooms, and more space for the children to spread out and play. Yet again, the children get to see what happens when God’s people come together in prayer, believing in the power of the Holy Spirit to unite and inspire ordinary people for the work of the Kingdom — faith at work in extraordinary deeds.
