So we’ve been in this author-reader relationship for a few months now and I was thinking…. maybe it’s time I shared a bit of personal information with you.
So here you go:
I have a 6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon thought pattern.
Don’t believe me? Let me show you the magic.
1. I noticed an advertisement for back to SCHOOL specials.
2. SCHOOL made me think of SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK.
3. In the early 2000’s, SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK released a short called “DON’T BE A CARBON SASQUATCH”.
4. In “DON’T BE A CARBON SASQUATCH” there’s a younger CHILD. (He’s learning about what a carbon footprint is, in case you were wondering.)
5. CHILD made me think of ADOPTION.
6. ADOPTION made me think of TODAY’S TERM.
Which, by the way, is Adoption Referral.
Pretty crazy right?!
Okay, enough about me. Let’s get down to business.
Adoption Referral:
An adoption referral is when an agency matches what they know about a family hoping to adopt with the information they have regarding a child who is available for adoption. *This may include anything from videos, photos, the child’s medical, developmental or social information and the child’s biological parents’ background information.
*The amount/type of information shared may vary depending upon the amount of information available and/or the circumstances of the adoption (i.e., open, semi-open or closed adoption).
